Kelly has been with Garbo since June of 2010. Before beginning her career at Garbo, Kelly graduated with honors and received a Student of the Month Award from Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing, Michigan, where she gained a passion for cutting and color, and developed an eye for detail. Also a former student of Michigan State's Interior Design program, she employs her knowledge of color and design theory into every style she creates.

Her specialty lies in soft, dimensional color techniques and creating haircuts customized to the type and natural movement of each guest's hair. However, her strongest skill may be her ability to listen and discover what each guest is really looking for.

Always looking to improve her skills, she continues her education with Aveda advanced classes. Since joining the Garbo team, she has attended Head Shape Matters; Aveda deep color class (designed to achieve high lift on naturally dark shades of hair); Aveda advanced color design (iDesign); men's current cutting and color trends; Aveda advanced red and chocolate brown haircolor classes; My Shape (creating color and cuts based on face shape/body type); as well as two other advanced cutting technique classes (Pure Form, and Technical Texture).

Personal Mission Statement: Hair is one of the few ways we can easily change our appearance, show our style, and otherwise represent who we are. However, unlike something like clothing, we have to put it in someone else's hands. That's why I believe that one of the most important parts of my job is to work with each guest to discover what their ideal look is, whether it's one that we will recreate for years or one of many looks we achieve together.
