Hello Garbonians! February has been an exceptional month and we want to thank all our guests who have taken advantage of our annual special. Even though we are still joyously celebrating our 37th anniversary with our new and longtime guests, I peeked at what’s up ahead for spring and I’ve got to let you know I am so excited! My question is…Are you ready for renewal? We know spring is the time when everything that was once dormant starts to come back to life. Well, the new trends for 2022, are reflecting new life/renewal. Time to say goodbye to neutral colors and say hello to warm, optimistic and friendly hues. As we become more optimistic about moving forward from where we have been the last couple of years, I assure you we will remain watchful, but for now it’s exciting that this year’s colors energetically scream …new life and fun! I can feel a new energy that’s starting to permeate the air with the trends for 2022. The big color trends are bright and exude warmth, optimism, and say let’s be friends. I’m all for saying goodbye dull neutrals, and hello warm and friendly! It’s like getting a big breath of fresh air after taking off your mask. The colors that are popping are, fuchsia, tangerine and cerulean blue. Raspberry mixed with chocolate brown is also making a splash. As for fashion, get ready, the skort skirt (in my day it was called a mini-skirt) is popular. Along with a change in colors and fashions, we are being asked more and more by our guests to change their hairstyle and color. Feels to me like its “be gone Cozy COVID!” Yes, we are hopeful, and we are having fun again with our art of hair, skin and nails. It’s time to recharge and renew! So many reasons to March on into Garbo. Speaking of recharging, we were charged up when we got the news that Garbo won Top 200 Salon for 2021, by Salon Today! Salon Today is a national magazine that focuses solely on the salon business. We were honored to win again for the 11th year in a row and I’m going for a dozen. The award is for outstanding business practices. I want to let you know about something fun we are about to launch. It’s a new monthly feature we’re calling ASK CHARLIE. Each month Charlie will share fun professional tips for skin and haircare. In case you haven’t met Charlie or don’t know who she is, she is my nine-pound poodle and I have taught her well --- so she is now an authority on giving tips.
