Hello Garbonians! I have great news to share! Masks are now optional at Garbo North & Garbo South. The new Austin guidelines, based on the steady decline in positive COVID cases, give me sound reason to believe we are safer than we were before. Hooray!!! We’ve wished for this for a long time and certainly hope things continueto decline. Join me in welcoming our brighter days with joy and gratitude! Thanks to everyone, we managed to get through those difficult days. I want to pause and say thank you to our staff and guests, for adhering to our safety protocols. I know the past two years were highly challenging, but because ofyour diligence and caring spirit, we were able to keep COVID cases to a minimum as compared to other businesses. I’m reminded that as we celebrate brighter daysothers, like the peopleof Ukraine,are having a different experience. Philanthropy has long been part of Garbo’s cornerstone, so we are in the process of putting together a plan to help raise money for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. For now, let me say, “There is something sweet about what we will be doing, and all you Garbonians will be able to savor the experience.” Stay tuned! One other thing I’d like to mention is April 25th is National Hairstylists’Day. I will be honoring our stylists byletting them know how much they are appreciated!For some of us, there is something about being in our stylists’ chair that gives us permission to open our souls, relax and breathe.We confide in our stylists and when we leave, our hearts are lighter, our hair is fresh and styled and we get to hit the restart button and get on with our life. Ha! I felt something special just thinking about the experience of having someone pamper and care for me. As a stylistfor more than 40-years, and as one who loves to sit in a stylist’s chair and be treated with genuine care, respect and kindness, I know first-hand how special a good stylist can make you look and feel about yourself.
