Hello Loyal Garbonians, I am Marina Elizalde the new Esthetician here at Garbo. You probably have seen me giving hand massages, possibly even greeting you when you walk in, or better yet you have seen me in the treatment room. I absolutely love learning about skin, skincare products, and ingredients. Since, I graduated high school I really wanted to go to school to become an Esthetician, but life had other plans. 2020 was year I decided to go with, or without Covid. I applied to the AVEDA Institute in January 2020, and was supposed to be starting the first week of March; however, Covid made its appearance and things started to look differently. My first day of school got pushed back and my house became my classroom. Despite how different everything was going to be, I still was determine to become Esthetician. Even though Covid made schooling challenging due to restrictions for public safety, I was so thrilled that my 2020 goal of become an esthetician came true. December 23, 2020 I passed my practical exam and was licensed by the end of the year. Fast forward five months and I sent an application on indeed, and just minutes later I was setting up an interview with Marsha. I was and remain super excited to be working at an AVEDA salon.
